THE ERUDITE
Don't dismiss lectures as dusty, crusty, and creaky! They're fascinating (and often free) ways to learn more about a subject you're interested in and meet people who feel the same way.Try the venues below for a great big earful:
Philosophy @ New Acropolis: The New Acropolis specialises in the repopularisation and dissemination of philosophical ideas. Attend lectures such as 'Philosophy and the Gods,' 'Philosophy and the Platonic Tradition' and 'The Mozart Effect.' You'll see the world differently, we believe.
Psychology Seminar Series @ Goldsmiths College: Goldsmiths College has access to some of the world's finest minds on the subject of Psychology, and if you go to a lecture, you can too. Try out 'Near Death Experiences,' 'Intellectual Black Holes,' and 'The Science of Magic.'
Conway Hall Humanist Centre: At the home of the South Place Ethical Society, you can inquire into the nature of ethics while upholding their 'tradition of free enquiry in all areas of thought and action.' Some talks that piqued our interest include 'Does the Natural World Point to God?', 'Trick or Treatment,' and 'Monsters from the Deep.'
